Topic 3 Assignment Creature/Other documentation

With the first description, it was immediately clear to me that it was a hippo. However, I knew i had to try and make something that didn't the answer as a reference, so i tried to draw it using basic shapes as the building blocks for it (square head, Bulky body meaning even bigger square, etc.)

It still came out as a hippo.. I couldn't unlink the amswer from it's description.


The second one however was much more problematic for me. I understood that we were supposed to draw the scene as well as the animal or people being described (or both for the more courageous people in the class). I really didn't feel comfortable drawing the people based on the description given so I decided to stick to the scene of them roasting the animal when I got the thought "the people have to be tending the meat while it's cooking, so how would i avoid drawing the people?" 

I came to the conclusion that I should draw it from the perspective of the fire looking up at the animal hung to cook. The perspective of the undulating back from what's esentially the top-down perspective was a real pain in the neck to try and get. I tried looking up references but none had the specific look I was going for.
